Nisswa Lake access will become reality
By MIKE O'ROURKE FROM Brainerd Dispatch
A long-awaited public access on Nisswa Lake will become a reality with the conveyance to the DNR of 3.7 acres on Hazelwood Drive.
DNR Parks and Trails Division Deputy Director Forrest Boe said in a statement the state has been working for 25 years to secure water access to this lake. The access is expected to include a boat ramp, parking, native shore land plantings and storm water ponds. If the park effort is successful, TPL officials said, it would provide opportunities for swimming, fishing, picnicking and a pier for visitors to dock their boat and come to town for food or shopping.
